The Blue Ridge Apple Farms group is made up of like minded farmers who believe emphatically in what they do. Our “Flavor First” focus guides every decision on the farm, from variety development to packing and shipping. When you put flavor first and treat customers like friends, you can create opportunities for 6 generations of families to grow up on the farm and continue to spread the good word of Blue Ridge Mountain Apples.
Timber Ridge Fruit Farm
With a name like Cordell Watt, you know you are destined for great things! Since taking over the Timber Ridge farm in 2006, Cordell has nearly doubled his apple acreage and integrated new technology in the packing house. Recognized in 2013 as Apple Grower of the Year, Cordell and his family are trend setters in the Blue Ridge Apple industry.
Appalachian Orchard Co
The Appalachian Orchard Company, owned by Mike Orr and family, is steeped in apple history and family tradition. The Orr’s have been cultivating amazing apples in Almost Heaven, West Virginia since the early 30’s. Now into its 5th generation of apple growers, the Appalachian Orchard Co has grown the apple farm to over 550 acres. The new generation just completed the installation of a new, state of the art apple packing facility, just in time for the 2018 season.
Nix Fruit Farm
One of the last truly commercial apple operations in North Carolina, Jimmy Nix and Sons has been growing fresh apples in Hendersonville, NC since the early 20s. Since taking the reigns of the farming operation in 2010, son Mark Nix has focused on improving the quality of apples at local retail markets. Mark added state of the art apple technology in 2012 and continues to prepare his families farm for another century of Blue Ridge Mountain Apples.
